Dr. Robert Cohen, z’l was a dreamer, visionary, and builder, who maximized his capabilities and potential, always for the betterment of others.
He was an extraordinary man who lived his life according to the values of unyielding integrity and profound respect for all individuals.
He built not only a successful medical practice in America, but he was an outstanding leader who was instrumental in building many of the Orthodox educational institutions in Atlanta, Georgia, which are still foundational pillars of that community.
In December, 2009, Dr. Robert Cohen z’l and his wife, Jan arrived in Israel, actualizing their dream of making aliyah and of settling in Eretz Yisroel.
Dr. Cohen, an American board- certified allergist and immunologist, had established a vibrant medical practice in Atlanta, Georgia USA, where he practiced from 1985-2009. Not content to retire once in Israel, he immediately began the preparations necessary to continue the practice of allergy in Ramat Beit Shemesh.
He established relationships with Meuhedet and Leumit, as well as with private patients, and was a well-respected member of the medical community in RBS. Always motivated by a desire to help the community of which he was a part, Dr. Cohen, along with Mr. Yosef Jason, envisioned a clinic which would deliver outstanding service by superbly qualified medical specialists, in a warm and professional atmosphere.
Thus, LaBriut Specialty Health Center was launched in September, 2020.
Although Dr. Cohen z’l is no longer here, LaBriut continues to strive for excellence, availability, and professionalism in meeting the medical needs of the growing population of Beit Shemesh and its surrounds. B’ezrat H-shem, Dr. Cohen’s dream will continue to be realized and optimized.
